Running News!!!

Talent Show Fundraiser set for September 21st
We will need help with this great event. If you or someone you know is willing to donate any prizes for our raffle…please let me know….in the past few years we have raffled off an Ipad, a GoPro and Fitbits. Our Captains will speak with everyone this week about this major fun-d raiser!

Lowell Invite Results are In!!

Congrats to our Cougars for a fine representation at the highly competitive Lowell Invite. This year five highly ranked teams from SoCal came up to give everyone a run for their money!

Our frosh boys were led by Kai Weiner, Alex Jung, Victor Zhang, Joshua Bernard-Pearl and Julian Johnson—with only about a 24 second gap from 1st to 5th!

Our Soph boys were led by Trevor Ryan, with an extremely fast time of 13:26. Joseph Doyle, Jakob Seidner and Ethan Chan PR’d from their 2016 times.

Leading the way for our varsity boys were Calder Abbott and Henry Burditt, with new PRs over the 2.93 mile course.

As for the girls, they were led by last year’s state qualifier, Riley Harmon. Riley finished in the medals with a nice time for this early in the season. The frosh/soph girls were led by Ellery Renger. Also turning in fine efforts and PRing were Danielle Nanez, Calla Marchetti and Carolyn Lee.

Check the Shutterfly site for tons of photos!

Next up for a smaller number of Cougars will be the Farmer Invite on Saturday. “Tentative” entries are attached, along with maps of the course. We will only be running the 3 mile events.

Here are some key reminders!!

1. I will be sending out a weekly email to inform you of practices, meets, results. I am working on posting info at the go albany site as well--- http://www.goalbanyathletics.org

2. We will continue to maintain our Cross Country site at shutterfly…which is where you can see plenty of results and photos posted there since 2009 or so. If you are not a member, let me know and I will add you to the list. If you wish to be taken off the member list, let me know that too. Check it out at: https://goaxc.shutterfly.com

3. We hope to practice every day once school starts. Once school starts…practices will be right after school…usually 3 pm on Wed/Fridays and 4pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday. We always meet at the track—rain or shine.

4. All athletes are expected to come to practice ready to go…be dressed in running attire and bring a watch. You should have relatively new and stable “running” shoes.

Should you have any questions, feel free to ask me….

Thanks,
Coach Craig
